O
Tiamat é uma banda atualmente de Gothic Metal/Gothic Rock, embora já houvesse
trabalhado com Death Metal e Doom metal no começo da carreira; formada na
Suécia, em 1989, o Tiamat é sucessão de outra banda, o Treblinka (nome originário de um campo de concentração nazista da
segunda guerra mundial).
O
único problema do Treblinka era que já havia uma banda com o mesmo nome, logo
tiveram que mudar o nome da banda. Queriam um nome impactante, decidiram que
seria Tiamat, nome também de uma deusa babilônica/suméria, mas para quem já
assistiu o desenho animado Dungeons And
Dragon (caverna do dragão) este nome é referente ao dragão de cinco
cabeças.

O
Tiamat é aquela banda perfeita para você que gosta de calmaria acompanhada por
um pouco de agitação e um clima sombrio; se deseja músicas mais darks com um
pouco de agressividade basta dá uma conferida nos primeiros álbuns da banda, já
os álbuns posteriores são mais agitados.
Um
dos álbuns mais marcantes da banda foi o Wildhoney,
além de ter sido um dos mais vendidos, foi o álbum que mais mesclou estilos e
sensações; um álbum que mistura músicas calmas, outras mais extremas, dando
impressão de mudança de gênero do Tiamat.
Aconselho
ouvir: Will They Come, Whatever That Hurts, Mountain Of Doom, Cain, Gaia, Lucienne.
Eu
como um curtidor da banda não posso deixar de mostrar minha opinião a respeito
da mesma, embora o Tiamat seja pouco ou não muito conhecido é uma banda de
qualidade como qualquer outra conhecida do gênero.
Um
fato que talvez vá derrubar a boa imagem da banda, e que vai incomodar os
headbangers e rockers “anticapitalistas” é que um dos álbuns da banda, o Judas Christ (2002) foi considerado um
álbum mais comercial, isso pela própria banda.
Só
um recado: se você deixa de ouvir uma banda por ela simplesmente vender seu trabalho
tu tem que rever teus conceitos, e relembrar que música sem um capital não põe
comida na mesa dos integrantes. E poxa... Você faz download dos álbuns, não precisa
pagar nada, nem ter o que reclamar de preços.
Outro
fato que vai fazer você me xingar ou não... é que a banda fez um cover de uma
das músicas da Lana Del Rey, a Born To Die.
