DragonForce é
uma banda de Power Metal. Foi formada em 1999, em Londres, Inglaterra, após o
fim da banda Demoniac (Black Metal).
Todos integrantes, exceto um (Lindsay Dawson), juntaram-se com ZP Theart para
formar a atual DragonForce, que antes era a DragonHeart.

O
motivo principal e talvez único da mudança de nome foi que descobriram que já
havia outra banda com o nome de DragoHeart, logo sendo obrigados a mudar.
DragonForce
é uma das atuais bandas mais famosas nos gêneros Power Metal/Speed Metal, e
leva fama também de banda de estúdio (banda que não tem grande desempenho ao
tocar ao vivo, desempenha melhor suas músicas em estúdio.) .
Em
2006, ocorre o lançamento do terceiro álbum, Inhuman Rampage; o álbum que mais favorece e promove a banda.
Começando com dois singles: Through the
Fire and Flames, e Operation Ground
and Pound, que atualmente são as músicas mais conhecidas da banda.
Após
lançarem o clipe da música Through the Fire and Flames, o álbum Inhuman Rampage
teve um grande aumento no número de vendas.
Em
2006, a Through the Fire and Flames foi lançada no Guitar Hero 3, e foi/é
considera uma das mais difíceis de ser tocada. Agora imaginem só, o aumento do
sucesso com um vídeo, uma participação em um game famoso, e um álbum recordista
da banda, foi um estouro da banda e principalmente do Inhuman Rampage em
específico. (Foi adicionada mais duas faixas do álbum no Guitar Hero, e uma de
outro álbum).
