Corvo do Metal: Imagine Dragons [Discografia]

Formada em Nevada, Estados Unidos, Imagine Dragons é uma banda de Rock alternativo e Indie Rock (ou ainda Pop rock).

A banda foi formada em 2008, porém antes disso já havia sido lançado um EP intitulado “Speak To Me” (Por isso não considerado como álbum oficial, mas devido ser um arquivo raro estarei listando e compartilhando aqui).

A formação da banda se divide em duas: a primeira que se estende até o lançamento do EP citado acima e a segunda que é após o lançamento do mesmo.

A primeira (original) contou com os membros:

Dan Reynolds [Vocal, Percussão]
Andrew Tolman [Bateria, backing vocals]
Aurora Florence [Piano, Violino, backing vocals]
Andrew Beck [Guitarra, backing vocals]
Dave Lemke [Baixo, backing vocals]

A segunda formação se deu da seguinte maneira:
Dan Reynolds (Vocalista), em 2008, conheceu Andrew Tolman (Baterista) na universidade onde ambos estudavam. O baterista chamou um amigo seu para a banda, Daniel Wayne (Guitarra). Após algum tempo, Andrew Tolman integra sua esposa, Brittany Tolman (Piano e Teclado) à banda (fazendo a segunda voz). Daniel Wayne decide integrar Bem McKee (Baixista) à banda.

A oportunidade de crescer surge quando o vocalista da banda Train adoece antes de tocar no evento Bite Of Las Vegas Festival 2010. Adivinhe só? Isso mesmo, chamaram o Imagine Dragons para substituir a banda em um show contando com mais de 26 mil pessoas.
É daí que surgem premiações como: “Melhor CD de 2011” (Las Vegas SEVEN Magazine) e “Melhor banda Indie local de 2010” (Las Vegas Weekly).

Do final de 2011 ao início de 2012 ocorreu apenas o tradicional Hentai com polvo (período em que entra e sai membros da banda). O EP “Continued Silence” também foi lançado em 2011 (novembro).

Enquanto a versão digital de Continued Silence atingiu a posição 40 na Billboard 200, It’s Time na versão single atingia a 15ª posição na Billboard Hot 100. O vídeo de It’s Time fez com que a banda fosse indicada ao prêmio MTV PUSH Artist of the Week, além de mais tarde ter sido indicado na categoria “Melhor clipe de Rock”.

Continuando a lista das zilhões de premiações recebidas pela banda, Night Visions, de 2012, primeiro álbum de estúdio da banda já chega ocupando a 2ª posição na Billboard 200, vendendo mais de 83 mil cópias só na primeira semana! Acabou por aqui? Tá longe de terminar, alcançou também a 1ª posição na Billboard Alternative e Rock Album, fora as posições de destaque nas paradas da Áustria, Canadá (Sim, onde parece só existir música pop e vertentes de eletrônica), Alemanha e Noruega (Sim, onde tu não vê nem a luz do Sol, de tanto Black Metal que tem).

Sim, a banda já se apresentou aqui no Brasil, lá no LollaPraLoser, ops, Lollapalooza, em 2014.

Você já deve ter ouvido alguma música da banda sem nem saber que era de sua autoria. Vão aí algumas das músicas e onde apareceram:

“Ready Aim Fire” em Iron Man 3: Heroes Fall (“Homem de Ferro 3”);
“Who We Are” em The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (“Jogos Vorazes: Em Chamas”);
“Battle Cry” em Transformers: Age Of Extinction (“Transformers: A Era da Extinção”);
“Warriors” em League of Legends 2014 World Championship (Torneio Mundial de LOL);
“On Top Of The World” em FIFA e PES (“Pro Evolution Soccer”) [Versões de 2013].

Embora não gostar de fazer propaganda ou não confiar muito em instituições de caridade, acho que o trabalho que a banda realizou vale ser citado.
O jovem Tyler Robinson morreu de câncer no começo de 2013. Sua família junto com a banda criou uma instituição que carrega seu nome. O objetivo dessa instituição é fornecer assistência financeira às famílias de crianças portadoras da doença. Sabemos que AIDS e câncer são duas doenças bastante complicadas no que se refere a curas e tratamentos, e que cada dia são vários novos testes e estudos. E cada progresso científico gera um tratamento mais eficaz, com maior chance de cura, porém a cada melhora no tratamento surge um aumento no custo do mesmo.
A função da instituição é arrecadar dinheiro para dar suporte à essas famílias e tentar reduzir o sofrimento tanto de quem passa pelos tratamento quanto de quem acompanha. Sabe a música Demons? Pois bem, parte do dinheiro arrecadado com a faixa é destinado à instituição.
